New & Upcoming Crochet Class at the Portside!!

Have you ever wanted to learn how to crochet? Come join us on Wednesday, January 12th from 12-2 pm and learn how to crochet with our teacher Jean Leszczynski who has been crocheting for over 30 years! During this class you will learn the basics of crocheting; single stitch, double stitch and patterning. Take a look at some examples of Miss Jean's crocheting!!!

CHECK OUT THE 4TH MURAL MAKING EVENT !!!!

Last night on December 6th at 5:30 the community came and helped paint cement fish that will be placed on the Portside Art Center's mural. Every one had so much fun hanging out and getting creative! We will be having many more Mural Creation Events through out the winter so if you missed out this time don't worry come to the next event!

Mural Creation Event

The Portside Arts Centers ongoing community mural painting event was hosted by Philadelphia Mural Arts Programs, Muralists Cesar Viveros. Cesar brought with him actual panels to be painted by the community, with the paint by numbers method. Children and their parents came to take part in this community event. Which was the third in the series. The community has been very excited to participate in this community event.

Portsides Fun with Drums class had their recital this week!! Each student showcased their skills for family and friends while drumming along to their selected song. They were very proud of their accomplishments.
